The Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) is a flexible, general purpose savings account that will be available January 2, 2009. Starting on January 2, 2009 investors eighteen and over will be able to utilize the new TFSA while benefiting from taxfree earnings and growth.
The TFSA is a flexible, general purpose account that will allow you to hold the same investments that you would hold in your RRSP. This includes: mutual funds, money market funds, cash deposits, GIC’s, publicly traded securities and corporate bonds.
